Letchworth - good place to live?

Hi,
Am toying with the idea of moving to your fine Garden City, but am finding it hard to get information on the area.
I'd be very grateful for any local knowledge on the area, parts which are desirable to live and parts which should be avoided (if any). What are the local facilities like etc.
